Want to refresh your interiors but don’t know where to begin? We got you!
Take a look at some interior design ideas that can inspire you to transform your home:
1. DISPLAY ART
No home is complete without art on the walls. Give life to your walls by hanging art pieces you love! Art can reinforce your home’s color palette or you can break from a neutral palette and use art to bring color into a space. Art is very personal so make sure what you pick, sparks joy and speaks to you!
2. INSTALL HARDWOOD FLOORING
One way to make your home feel timeless is by installing stylish and sleek hardwood flooring in your interiors. Having this classic flooring style is not only gorgeous but can increase the value of your home. It’s durable and easy to clean! It will bring warmth and never look outdated.
3. GET THE LIGHTING RIGHT
If you want to make your home memorable, be sure to get the lighting right. Choose unusual and unique light fixtures. These will make a statement and make you feel great in your home. And don’t forget dimmers! Not only will you save energy, but they’ll help you achieve mood lighting and create different scenes.
4. CONSOLES!
Console tables are a great addition to any home. They can make a statement, provide storage space if necessary, or simply serve as a catch all or place to display beautiful items. If you’re looking to save some money, consider upcycling an old vintage console by painting it and accessorizing it with plants and metal accents.
5. DEFINE YOUR FOCUS AREA
Now that we’re all working from home at least partially, it’s become more important than ever before to create a space where you can do some reading, study or work. Choose a spot where natural light comes in, where you can set up necessary technology, and somewhere you can store and organize your books and supplies. Spaces like this will help you stay focused!
6. USE STOOLS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
Versatile stools are an interior designer’s secret weapon. This smaller piece of furniture can be integrated into any design to add functionality. You can also hide or stack them when not in use and bring them out for extra seating when needed. They come in all shapes and sizes, with storage or without. When you don’t know what item to use, chances are a stool will work great!
7. INCORPORATE WHITE MARBLE
White marble is a popular material for bathrooms. This beautiful stone is naturally water-resistant and adds an elegant and timeless feel to any space. Mix in some black or charcoal grey finishes to achieve a more contemporary look.
8. EMPHASIZE YOUR FLOORS
Adding a statement floor can create striking results that will transform any room. The key is to incorporate balance. If the floor design has a busy pattern, make sure the rest of the room is neutral.
9. MAKE IT SHINE
Warm metallic tones like gold, rose gold, bronze and brass are inviting, flattering and elegant. Incorporating these tones and accents into your home decor creates a unique, modern and glamorous look with an inviting appeal.
10. LET THE LIGHT IN
Add large windows or doors into your interior space to let the sunlight in. If you don’t have that option, make sure you use sheer window treatments on your existing windows to let as much light in as possible. Incoming sunlight from windows will brighten your home as well as your mood. Not to mention that maximizing the use of natural light helps cut down on electricity costs while improving your mental state, productivity and wellbeing.
11. RESIN WICKER FURNITURE
Resin wicker is durable, resists sun damage, and works well in all types of weather and climates. It will give your space a tropical look and adds great texture and visual interest.
12. INCLUDE MIRRORED FURNITURE
For an upscale, glamorous or elegant look, add mirrored furniture. It will add light, amplitude and style.
13. FIND A GREAT RUG
Rugs are the ultimate way to draw an interior design scheme together. They can anchor a space and make it feel cozy and inviting. Ideally, a rug should be big enough so that your furniture’s legs can rest on it. Rugs can be neutral or add visual interest to a space to make it come alive.
14. REPURPOSE YOUR JARS!
If you want a good ceiling piece that you can put either in your kitchen or dining room, then try hanging jar lights. Hanging jar lamps will give your interior space a modern contemporary look with a hint of industrial. While this look is en vogue right now, and you can probably find fixtures like these easily, this could also be a fun DIY project and a great way to upcycle those leftover glass jars!
15. COFFEE TABLES
Don’t underestimate the power of a coffee table. In an open interior space, use a coffee table to house decorative items and books. You can style your coffee table by placing accessories such as candles, coffee table books, decorative boxes, and ceramic pieces. A coffee table should maintain the right proportion to the seating area. Make sure to choose the right size for the space.
